Embroidery Machine Operator
Reports To:
Position Summary: The Embroidery Machine Operator operates commercial embroidery machines to embroider name, initials, or logo designs on garments, bags and accessories.
Essential Functions:
- Performs simple maintenance and cleaning of machines
- Places spools of thread, on spindles, insert bobbins, and thread ends through machine guides and components
- Utilizes various frames according to product type
- Scans UPC code on product tag for type and location of embroidery
- Positions items under needles, using marks on machines, clamps, templates, or cloth as guides
- Starts machines and observes sewing operation to detect defects in stitching etc.
- Cuts excess material or thread from finished product
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or GED; & 6+ months related hooping and embroidery sewing experience or training
Skills & Abilities:
- Basic Personal Computer skills
- Oral Comprehension - Listening to and understanding information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- Language Skills - Ability to read & comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence & memos
- Reasoning Ability - Applying common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Time Management - Managing one's own time
- Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
- Mathematical Skills - Adding & subtracting two-digit numbers and ability to multiply & divide with 10's and 100's
